George Michael Irwin prayerfully went to his eternal reward on June 15th at the age of 83 at Ochsner Medical Center in Baton Roouge. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Carolyn Clesi Irwin in 1990, 2 infant sons, grandson, brother, stepson and parents. He was a native and resident of New Orleans until he moved to Baton Rouge after hurricane Katerina, and loved living there. He is survived by his devoted wife Pat Decell Irwin, 2 daughters, 1 son, 8 grandchildren, and 1 great gramdchild, 8 step children, and many step grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He graduated from LSU with a degree in chemical engineering. He was a member of Air Force ROTC. He worked for E.L.I. Inc. from 1957 through 1997, and was president for 14 years. His lifelong hobby was gardening. He was a dedicated member of St. Vincent de Paul for almost 20 years. He worked diligently for the Tarahumara Children's Hospital Fund, a Jesuit mission for the Tarahumara indians in Creel, Mexico in a voluntary capacity. He served as president, vice-president and bookkeeper until now. In lieu of flowers, he suggested donations to the TCHF, or to Jesuit High School in New Orleans, LA. He was adored by all his family and will be forever missed.
